LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETYRe: Cops for Cancer Please accept this letter as a note of appreciation from Canadian Cancer Society staff, RCMP Tour de North volunteers and especially from child cancer patients and their families across northern BC. Since 2005, RE/MAX has led the way in supporting Cops for Cancer-Tour de North with cash donations, volunteer participation and encouraging other businesses and staff groups to get on board with this cancer-fighting cause. Further, the leading edge of the RE/MAX involvement has consistently been in Prince George with RE/MAX Owner Bill Lynch modeling a genuine commitment to fighting cancer. Through the efforts of Mr. Lynch and realtors at RE/MAX Centre City, sponsorship support has been received from 10 other RE/MAX offices in the north. As well, the response by Prince George RE/MAX realtors when called on to volunteer at events and lead the way as fundraisers has produced excellent results and, in fact, set the pace for other individuals in volunteer commitment. Two areas of support for Cops for Cancer-Tour de North often overlooked are the RE/MAX tent purchased by RE/MAX Centre City and the realtor liaison who is a member of the event Steering Committee. Canadian Cancer Society and Cops for Cancer logos were added to the tent which has traveled with the Tour each of the past 4 years and set up in communities along the Tour route. The Steering Committee has benefited from the input and involvement of Bob Zayonc, a RE/MAX realtor for the past several years as well. Bob has assisted in mobilizing other RE/MAX offices to support Cops for Cancer and has done an exceptional job of recruiting his colleagues at RE/MAX Centre City to give their time and cash donations at Information Fairs and fundraising events. Cops for Cancer is first of all a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society and the RE/MAX involvement here is exemplary. While totals are still to be determined for 2008, we know that the cash sponsorship gifts provided by RE/MAX in the north have surpassed $80,000 to date. THANK YOU RE/MAX !! Sincerely, |
